The best ways to use essential oils

Essential oils have more benefits than you think. They can be one of the most valuable additions to your daily routine. Here are a few suggestions on how to use them.

Use a quality diffuser

Use a good quality diffuser, top of the line if you can. They can be expensive but they’re worth it. There are cheaper diffusers that you can buy but don’t expect them to have anywhere near the same quality. The better the quality, the longer they last, and the wider the radius. Diffusers also make a great sleeping aid so when choosing your oils, go for lavender or frankincense scents. These are the most common oils for sleep and relaxation.

Oil burners

Oil burners are one of the best ways to make your home smell beautiful. All you have to do is light a tea candle underneath the bowl, pour in your favorite essential oil, and it will fill your home with a sweet-smelling aroma for hours! The first time I used one I knew it wouldn’t be my last. I cooked, worked out, and even cleaned the litterbox and with all of that, all I smelled was the essential oil filling my space with the sweet smell of lavender. About 4 hours later, the oil was still burning and I still had some oil left to use for the next day.

In your hair routine

Using essential oils is a definite go-to especially if you have naturally curly or kinky hair. They are super effective especially in the winter when our hair is the driest. Add a few drops to your conditioner to give it the kick it needs to lock in moisture. It will also make your conditioner smell yummy. Some of the most common essential oils for natural hair are chamomile, peppermint, and lemongrass.

Use if you’re sick

 Young Living

Essential oils may not always come to mind if you’re sick, but essential oils are an excellent tool for fighting colds or the flu. Frankincense essential oils are very beneficial due to their natural cold-fighting abilities. Drawing a hot bath and dropping a couple of drops of frankincense along with a couple drops of a few other good quality essential oils will turn your bath into a holistic decongestion. This is also a great routine for relieving back pains.

The best oils to buy

Quality should be your top priority when purchasing essential oils. Some of the top brands are young living, doTERRA, and Plant therapy. Buy oils according to your needs. If you are sick, frankincense and oregano essential oils are great for cold’s and upper respiratory problems while tea tree oil has great germ-killing and antifungal abilities.

Use with caution

Essential oils are very potent so it’s not recommended to apply pure essential oils directly on your skin as this can cause irritation. If you are going to use essential oils on your skin, be sure to dilute them with a carrier oil like jojoba oil or coconut oil.

Hope this helps 😉
